let me share what I have been up to lately, Since I do all my website work I moved hosting services a few months ago to a company called Ipage.com, big mistake it was cheaper but you get what you pay for.
I lost all my google indexed pages it wrecked my site search for google. so I recently moved back to good ole Bluehost where I was at for about 6 years before I moved.  glad to be back almost immediately my website was back into google, so now I am on the track to a good google recovery, I have not painted much lately because of this but now I can get started on some things that have been on the back burner.

Finally I am going to teach online classes check the calendar for dates.. I need help with what times are good for everyone if you are interested let me know what is a good time for you in your part of the world, I will see if I can arrange classes when people are available... use the contact form below to let me know where you are and what times are good for you, the classes I am offering at this time are technique classes I will be teaching complete painting workshops soon.

I added a free online rental just now about painting clouds and sky donation is not required but always appreciated.

I added a new gallery to the site today I will be updating the gallery as new paintings are painted, hope you enjoy.

Latest update about Liive classes online I have got a few more bugs and tests to run, everything is looking good hopefully not to much more configuring to do. Black Bear festival/leading to new festivals

Hi Everyone,
wanted to let all of you know that the black bear festival last weekend went great! So good I have decided to try other venues I will be posting where I will be in the calender events section . I hope to have some new places listed soon I look to venture out to the surrounding areas such as Georgia of course, Alabama, Florida,Tennessee, North and South Carolina. If I am coming close to where you live please come out and visit I would enjoy meeting each and every person that I have met through the web. Check the calender frequently for new updates. I recently partnered with a old time friend and artist Susan Hall she has been there since almost the beginning of my painting career she is very gifted at writing and designing that's why this new magazine looks so good.

and I will release some FREE samples on the site as I go along. I also got some new ideas for another painting video tutorial,
I am currently working on a written tutorial of the last class I had this has given me an idea for all of you who would like to come to class but live far away I am going to start making written tutorials like the digital magazine or simplified written tutorial. This way you can still paint the class projects with us.

Paint Types/ Paint Quality

I will share with you my experience from paint types and quality: As a new painter you may already know or you may not know about different paints To paint wet-on-wet style which I use most of the time especially on my videos because I can get finished in one setting. I will talk more about this in another Blog Topic,

wet-on-wet you need a firm paint to start with I use LUKAS STUDIO OILS it is a professional oil paint very affordable, before you buy paint research it don't just buy the first set of paint you see thinking" this will get me started" 9 times out of ten it will get you frustrated because of not the color?? but the quality of the paint. Most cheap sets of paint are more filler than pigment also the ones I have seen are to thin out of the tube.

look for Toxic seals on the paint tubes, AP means Non Toxic that's what you want it's safe to use, CL means Contains Lead this you do not want its hazardous.

you will also see on most tubes a coding for transparency if it says opaque means the opposite "transparency is when you can see through the color just like a colored window glass, opaque is solid you can't see through it unless you thin it down with a medium."

paying attention and being aware of these things will help you learn what they can do for you.

Some Colors you will find out are stronger in pigment and overpower others when you mix them this is something that you will develop as you practice I could talk about it all day but you have to experience it to grasp it. "it is an individual thing everyone is slightly different."

using the paint:

Make sure the paint is not to dry in the tube it needs to have some oil in it if it has to much try this stand the tube on it cap end for a few days see if that helps the the oil will settle at the back of tube, also try needing the tube before use if it is to dry the oil maybe gathered together in the tube.

one thing about paint most beginning artist do is they do not use enough paint while painting this use to be me to when I first started till I came to terms with myself here is my philosophy "put out plenty of paint so what if you waste a little here or there don't be so stingy you will rob your painting they make it everyday there is not a shortage on oil paint."
