    • When painting wet on wet remember a thin paint will stick to a thick paint.
    • Use an artist grade odorless thinner to clean your brushes.
    • Objects in the distance are lighter in value, the closer an object gets to you in the foreground of a landscape, it becomes darker to appear closer to you.

    July class painting • Tennessee mountain home.

    This was a fun painting we did in our July painting class, I love to paint old shacks and houses, oh and I almost forgot barns.  I wanted to paint a place where I could get away to, you know a peaceful place... seems like all my paintings have that place in mind.     February 6th Art Class 2014

    Hi Everyone ,
    This was our painting project for February I call it “Mountain Road”
    It is mixed medium we painted black gesso or you can use acrylic to under paint the background trees let dry for around 30 minutes or more, then coat the entire canvas with a clear oil based medium I used Linseed Oil, you can use a different oil if you prefer some say linseed oil yellows but I have personally never had that problem, I use very little.
    If you want to give it a shot, here is a list of the colors I used :

    3.Veridian Green
    4.Burnt Sienna
    5.Yellow Ochre
